How a Tankless Water Heater Works (Natural Gas)

How does a tankless water heater works? Natural gas tankless water heater is controlled by a small computer and various sensors, these vital parts work together to measure the temperature of the cold water coming in and various other operational functions.

Whenever water is being called, the tankless water heater’s computer determines the amount of heat that is required to raise the temperature of the cold water coming in to the desired temperature. The burner is then fired up, electronically, and the cold water coming in is heated to the set, desired temperature as the cold water passes through the heat exchanger. This is what gives tankless hot water heaters an endless supply of hot water as water is heated on demand and not in a limited holding tank. The burner is then turned off when the water source is closed, and then the exhaust fan turns on to vent the unit.
